Successful Completion of Feasibility Study for the Tanzania-Zanzibar Transmission Line

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our consultancy project for the 220 kV Transmission Line and Submarine Cables connecting Tanzania Mainland to Zanzibar (Unguja and Pemba) and Mafia District. This ambitious project, funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and commissioned by Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) and Zanzibar Electricity Corporation (ZECO), marks a major step in strengthening Zanzibar and Mafia Island’s power infrastructure.

As part of our assignment, Colenco Consulting Ltd, in collaboration with CESI S.p.A. and ELC Electroconsult S.p.A, delivered:

✅ A comprehensive Feasibility Study
✅ Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA)
✅ Conceptual Design of the transmission and submarine cable infrastructure
✅ Tender Document Preparation

This study not only ensures a reliable and high-quality power supply for the long term but also paves the way for future expansion of Zanzibar’s and Mafia’s power grid.
